In 2009 I had been teaching myself how to paint in Photoshop for about 3 years, and wanted to show my skills to my art teachers at college. I decided to do a digital painting of the Greek goddess Hera, which at the time was the biggest digital project I had worked on up till then. I was quite proud of the final product, but unfortunately my efforts were wasted on my grammar school teachers who had a traditional background…they didn’t understand what I was doing. But ever since I saw the front cover of a magazine with the stunning Vanity painting by Marta Dahlig (it was a real hallelujah moment I will always remember!), I knew that digital art was definitely something I wanted to pursue.
